Oh, and will they add more details/backgrounds? Even just a few would make the capes nicer .
The winners are not going to be the exact emblems. They will be used as INSPIRATION. The Anet artists will make their own versions, using those ideas.

So we wont get 2 Yin yang fish, we will get 1. We will get 1 Phoenix emblem, 1 turtle emblem, 1 frog emblem, etc.

But its also safe to believe that they will be very close to the originals if you go by this page: http://www.guildwars.com/events/cont...st-winners.php

No doubt that the beaver will get a complete makeover as its no where near Professional Graphic Design quality.

I am probably really blind that I do not see that Unicorn image.. Could you maybe show us what it looks like?

That beaver is by far the crappiest thing anet could do to this game... humor yes... but do repetetive jokes get old? yes.. in a week or 2 after the release it would've lost it's "humor" value.

Get this straight guys:

The beaver rocks, and it's doing what it was intended to do since they made it a winner: make us laugh.

So, as someone else said, how do you know they chose the winners and then added the beaver as a bonus? Besides, getting old or not, it's your choice to use that design or not, and as Gaile said, Anet was the judge over all this, so you can stop picking on the damn beaver now. :P

Duuuude! HOW DID THE BEAVER WIN!? I would have much rather have earniethed a righteous maul for my guild's cape of holiness! Perhaps even a symbol of a mighty paladin or a might ogre-slaying knife!

This is utter foolishness! ANET SHOULD TAKE THE GAME MORE SERIOUSLY AS MY BROTHERS AND I DO! Change your wicked ways, O most unwise Devs of unwiseness, or my creed shall smite thee!

Now I don't know which to feel more sorry for; The poor baby turtles enslaved by the mean ol' Luxons, or the sad, unloved little beaver who just tried to do his best.

The beaver is by far the best. And no, they won't change it much. They won't make it a professionally drawn beaver. What would be the point of that.

Everything else is just overdone cliche.

This was my entry.

probably disqualified as it was based on a metal sculpture

People should realize that the emblems weren't chosen for their artistic quality, but by the conceptual quality, in which case the beaver is as valid as any of the others.

Here is mine that I sent... the design was probably too complicated to be on a cape... but i thought they might wanted more variety and have something besides animals. should have stuck with the tiger and dragon design.

Loved you entry! I was looking at it just yesterday. I think it wasn't chosen because the very fine lines would be difficult to capture in a cape. So it wasn't the art that prevented it winning, but simply the difficulty of implementation on a small scale. It's an elegant design, and received a lot of appreciative comments!

Hey, I really wish you other guys who have shown your concepts had entered -- good stuff! What about if we have another emblem contest in the fall and... ahhh, but that would be telling.

At least put the Honorable Mentions in. They were better than the beaver by far.
